What size diesel heater should you choose for your van?
There is plenty of debate over this and there simply isn’t one east correct answer.
When chatting with clients I normally suggest that a smaller (17ft and less) van use a 2kw and above this a 5kw.
We use a 5kw in a 21ft van and find it is a perfect size. The advantage of a smaller (2kw) heater is that it also takes less physical space in the caravan so you can probably squeeze it into a dead space.
At the end of the day you may need to run a 2kw a little harder to heat a larger van or dial a 5kw heater down to suit a smaller van.
But – you’re staying warm and toasty on a cold day so either way it is doing the job!
